Rent & Payments

Rent is due on the 1st of each month. A grace period is provided through 5:00 PM on the 10th of the month. Payments received after that time may be considered late, and a late fee may be added to the account.

Rent may be paid by check or money order. Residents may also be able to pay by debit card through the DoorLoop tenant portal. Please note: cash payments are not accepted.

If rent is not received by the end of the grace period, a $15 late fee may be added to your account. If you are having difficulty paying rent on time, please contact the office as soon as possible to discuss your situation.

If you are having trouble paying rent, please contact the RHC office at 585-888-3033. Payment arrangements may be available depending on the circumstances. Residents are encouraged to reach out early so that available options can be discussed before the account becomes further past due.

Maintenance

Maintenance requests can be submitted by calling the RHC office at 585-888-3033. If no one is available to answer, please leave a detailed message that includes your name, address, unit number, phone number, and a clear description of the issue. Residents may also submit maintenance requests through the DoorLoop app or tenant portal.

An emergency maintenance issue is generally something that may affect health, safety, security, or cause serious property damage if not addressed quickly. Examples may include loss of power, active water leaks, no water, hazardous conditions, lockouts, or other urgent situations that require immediate attention.

For after-hours maintenance emergencies, please call 585-888-3033. This is the number to use for both regular office contact and after-hours emergency maintenance concerns.

Repair time depends on the type of issue, urgency, availability of materials, and whether outside vendors are needed. RHC responds to maintenance requests as quickly as possible, but work orders are prioritized based on urgency. Emergency issues are handled with the highest priority.

Lease & Household

Residents receive a copy of their lease at signing. If you need another copy, please contact or visit the main office, and staff will be happy to provide one.

No one may move into your unit without prior approval. Anyone living in the unit must be listed on the lease and must go through the required approval process through RHC and Rochester Housing Authority, when applicable. Allowing someone to live in the unit without approval may be a lease violation.

Changes in income or household size should be reported to Rochester Housing Authority. If you are unsure who to contact or how to begin the process, you may call the RHC office at 585-888-3033, and staff can help direct you to the appropriate contact.

Yes, pets are allowed, but restrictions and requirements apply. Pets must generally be under 20 pounds, unless the animal qualifies as an approved service animal or assistance animal. Residents must pay a one-time $100 pet fee, provide current vaccination records, and submit documentation signed by a veterinarian. All pets must be properly approved before being kept in the unit.

Safety & Community

If you are locked out of your unit, please call 585-888-3033. Staff will respond as soon as possible, and someone will typically come within the hour to assist you when available.

To report a neighbor issue, noise complaint, or other community concern, please call the office at 585-888-3033. Please provide as much detail as possible, including the date, time, location, and nature of the concern.

For safety concerns, please contact the RHC office at 585-888-3033. If there is an immediate emergency or danger, please call 911 first.

Yes. Vehicles must have current registration, insurance, and inspection. Residents must also register their vehicle with RHC and display the assigned parking tag as required. Vehicles that are not properly registered or do not follow parking rules may be subject to enforcement action.

Accessibility & Support

To request a reasonable accommodation, please contact the RHC office at 585-888-3033 and ask to speak with the Office Manager. Staff will help explain the process and what information may be needed to review your request.

RHC has a limited number of accessible units, and availability is not frequent. If you need an accessible unit or have an accessibility-related housing need, please contact the office so staff can explain the process and available options.

RHC has limited direct resources, but we may be able to recommend local agencies, programs, or community partners that can provide assistance. Residents experiencing hardship are encouraged to contact the office so we can help direct them to possible resources.
